William Petersen Returns as Gil Grissom on 'CSI' (VIDEO)

For the first time since his departure from the show in 2009, William Petersen returns as the beloved Gil Grissom in a short cameo on 'CSI' (Thu, 9PM on CBS).

In a brief video conference with wife Sara, Grissom says he's still in Peru, studying an ancient Incan gravesite littered with the remains of bugs. "It looked like somebody dumped a ton of Rice Krispies on top of a bunch of Halloween skeletons," he said. Oh, Grissom. You always had a way with words.

Then, Grissom's deaf mother, Betty, joins Sara on the conference and he promises they'll go to dinner when he "comes back." A possible hint at future appearances by the former head of the crime lab? We sure hope so.

CSI absolutely is not the same without Grissom..he is/was the show, bring him back!!!!

Never miss a show while he was on.........I stopped watching for a long time.
We need him back, he is CSI. Can wait for next season if he is back.

we need him back he was the best and still is.. bring him back to csi and you will see ratings go up again alot of people will watch the show again i stopped watching it for along time ... but it was because of william be off the show ..thank you Debbie Valentine
