A Bundled-Up Lea Michele Sings 'America the Beautiful' at 'Super Bowl XLV' (VIDEO)

Lea Michele, 'Super Bowl XLV'Christina Aguilera may have gotten the opportunity to bungle the lyrics of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at 'Super Bowl XLV' (Sun., 3:30PM ET on FOX), but FOX was able to book-end their coverage of the big game with 'Glee'-related material by featuring Lea Michele belting out 'America the Beautiful' at the top of the game along with their new episode afterward.

The 'Glee' starlet looked very warm in a thick and long coat. Considering it was an indoor stadium, we couldn't figure out why she felt the need to be so bundled up.

Maybe she was so nervous about the live performance that she forgot to take off her coat before walking out there. Maybe she forgot to put on the right dress under the coat. Can you imagine her taking off her coat in the dressing room to see her sleepwear underneath?

Regardless, she sounded beautiful on the song, nailed the words, and even rearranged the melody a bit in classic 'Glee' fashion. We almost expected her to mash it up with a current song to make it more hip and current, but we're glad she didn't.

Once again the network failed the fans with the half time show, and Christina let anyone that knows what an honor it is to be chosen to have the opportunity to sing the most important song this nation knows and screw it up,my goodness. It's a good thing you had Lea Michelle singing my favorite song when it comes to America, that was a terrific job. The game was fantastic. Manny De La Torre, Beaumont CA

Almost as bad as Roseanne Barr's version.

I love it, when Lea Michele sang, all you could see was the Green Bay Peckers, they did manage to seek in almost 2 seconds fo the Steelers.

Besides I watched both Lea and that other person and one should not have sung! Go home and sober up....

Went to Youtube and watched some 5 year old's singing it better than both.....

They should have asked her to sing the National Anthem, too. Or maybe that young lady (the student) who was asked by her school's administration to sing the Anthem in the "traditional way". Just a clue folks ... the National ANthem does not ned to be stylized or interpreted ... just sing it as it was written.
