Super Bowl, 'Glee' Score Record Ratings

Glee, Super BowlUPDATE: Not only is Super Bowl XLV the most watched game ever, but it is the most-watched program in TV history.

More than 111 million viewers tuned in to see the Green Bay Packers go up against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter, the overnight ratings clocked in at a whopping 47.9, tying the 1987 Super Bowl. The overnights are 3 percent higher than 2010's game, which brought in a total of 106.5 million viewers.

On the other hand, despite scoring its highest-rated episode yet, 'Glee's' ratings were 31 percent lower than last year's post–Super Bowl show, the premiere of CBS's 'Undercover Boss.' According to Entertainment Weekly, 26.8 million viewers tuned in for the highly anticipated episode, earning an 11.1 rating among adults age 18–49.

It's not bad news, though, seeing as EW reports 'The Sue Sylvester Shuffle' was the top-rated scripted telecast of any TV show in the past three years, overtaking the post-2009 Super Bowl episode of 'The Office.'

I just wonder, since the Pledge of Allegiance have been taken out of schools, how many people know the words to it?

Im canadian and i know both your pledge and the anthem ,ive heard it said,that 65 %of you dont know the words to your song really sad if you ask me. and even more sad is it not the first time that its been flubbed at the same event get a teleprompter geeeessss

ANYONE who is asked/hired to sing the national anthem at any event should be required to read the words from a teleprompter so nothing like this happens again. 'Nuff said! Problem solved.

I agree with most of the comments. Let's get someone to sing our National Anthem that cares about the song, and not their image. I know the words to the song, why can't someone in the national spotlight know them also. And I don't want to hear any crap about "nerves", our anthem should be ingrained in all of us...

The NFL should select a singer who can sing our national anthem with pride. The NFL should audition and select the best singer who will sing the anthem without adding their own quirks and gestures that take away the reverance of our flag. Maybe they should get a singer from the military, law enforcemnet, firefighters and not some showbusiness persons who seem to promote themselves and degrade our flag and anthem. The main focus of singing the anthem should be to honor our country for the freedom we enjoy to celebrate such immense events for the entertainment and pleasure of our country and the world. Apparently the NFL selection committee for the singing of the national anthem event fails to see the patriotic importance of this event to reinforce our unity as Americans, our patriotism, and for all the good things that our country stands for, and for what many Americans have sacrificed their lives. I pray to God that the NFL makes a better selection of singers for the next Super Bowl. May God bless America!

Not just overpaid, stanton, but pumped up with stereoids to make the show better for all the people out of work in America.

In fact, my theory is that the commercials were poor because the companies know people in the USA are poorer and have no money to pay for their products. So they are not going to spend lots of money on commercials this Super Bown.
