John Corbett Plays an Alcoholic, Absentee Dad on 'Parenthood' (VIDEO)

On 'Parenthood' (Tue., 10PM ET on NBC), Sarah Braverman's ex (played by John Corbett) finally rolls into town. It would seem like an excellent opportunity for the rocker/absentee dad to visit his teenage kids Amber and Drew. But the recovering alcoholic is hesitant, and doesn't give Sarah any advance notice of his arrival.

Seth later explains his presence to her, saying, "I got a couple gigs in town over the next few weeks." She's incredulous -- and hurt. "You're here for gigs? And you didn't even call me, at least, to let me know?"

"I know that I screwed up a hundred times in a hundred different ways, and it probably doesn't matter than I'm beyond sorry," Seth says, choking up. "I really am. I wanta be part of Drew and Amber's lives, whatever it takes."
