Wendy Williams has often expressed her opinion that new 'Jersey Shore' cast member Deena Cortese is trying to steal Snooki's spotlight. Today on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated), she had Deena on to broach the subject directly.

Williams began the interview by laying out her charge: "You've made an impression on all of us. It is no secret that many of thought you were there and trying to steal Snooki's spotlight."

"That's ridiculous," Cortese responded. "Honestly, me and Snooks are just really, really close. I mean, I'm just loud. I'm outgoing. What you see on the show is how I am in real life." And with that, the studio audience gave her a standing ovation.

Cortese went on to say say that she and Snooki were like "two meatballs." Which begs the question: How loud and meatball-like do you have to be for someone to think you're trying to stand out from the rest of the 'Jersey Shore' cast?
