Julie Zorrilla Wows 'American Idol' Judges With 'Summertime' Performance and Personal Struggle (VIDEO)

by Hilary Rothing, posted Feb 10th 2011 3:23PM
Julie Zorrilla wows the judges on American Idol.'Summertime' came early on Wednesday night's 'American Idol,' thanks to Colorado-via-Colombia's Julie Zorrilla. The 20-year-old auditioned on her birthday, but it was the judges who received a present in Zorilla's "very stylized" version of the Sam Cooke hit.

A raven-haired beauty with charisma and charm, Zorrilla calls to mind Lea Michele. And her pipes might just back up the comparison, as we head into Hollywood.

OMG, is that really HER NAME??? It's Spanish for "Little Bitch" (well, it's actually "Little Vixen"...) Poor kid, to be saddled with such a godawful family name...

the Summertime Ms. Zorilla sang is not exactly just a version of the Sam Cooke hit. it was written by George Gershwin, one of America's most well known native born composers, as an aria from the opera, "Porgy and Bess". please don't be part of the dumbing down of America.
