Regis Struggles With Kelly's Valentine's Day Gift (VIDEO)

Regis Philbin gives Kelly Ripa a Valentine's Day balloon, but a defect in the balloon (or Philbin's decided lack of technical expertise) mars the event when it fails to self-inflate on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated).

"This is what I have for you, my valentine. This is 100 percent of my love," said Philbin, smacking his hand against the balloon to cause it to inflate. But, nothing happens. As the co-hosts stare at the gift, Philbin lamely promises, "Something spectacular is going to happen."

After waiting several moments more, Philbin smacks it again, causing it to slightly inflate. Eventually, the balloon bursts out of its wrapper. "My love popped out!" he said.

"I can't believe you gave him something that required some assembly," said Ripa to producer Michael Gelman.
