Revisiting 'American Idol' Season 10's Most Unforgettable Auditions ...Through the Magic of Animated GIFs!

Look, we know the 'American Idol' auditions are all about procuring the next great pop superstar. But let's get real: At the end of the day, it's all about watching a camera guy get stomped in the face by some jackass doing backflips in the holding room, isn't it?

What other reason is there to sit through four weeks of musical chafing from those in denial of their own tone-deafness? But in case you decided to sit out this year's "tour du failure," or just want to relive the most painful moments (seriously, that poor camera guy is now conditioned to clutch his stomach everytime he hears the words "American Idol"), we give you the best of the worst, via the mezmorizing, loopy magic of animated GIFs!

Of course, Randy Jackson loves 'American Idol' fans but can you blame him if every now and then he feels the urge to smack one of 'em in the face? After Harvard golden girl, Molly DeWolf Swenson reminded Randy about his misplaced high-five, he apologized profusely. But you just know he secretly enjoyed it.

'American Idol' is full of shocking surprises, like learning that despite auditioning in a purple body suit, you're still not making it to Hollywood. Oh! The horror!

That's right, remember the name. In the tradition of Bad Boy Entertainment, No Limit Productions and Death Row Records comes "Matthew Scott Frankel Productions." Not only is Matt the CEO, he's also a recording artist. But what we're really waiting for is the clothing line. And were you aware that Matt's got a collabo with Chaka Khan on his "compilation album?" Were not sure if she is, either.

Despite the absurd display above, Courtney Penry can sing. And when she scored a ticket to Hollywood, she could have just accepted it gracefully and went on to celebrate with Seacrest and fam in the lobby. But just in case we didn't already think Penry, who is openly obsessed with Ryan Seacrest, is crazy, she does the "Chicken Dance. They say 'Idol' is overloaded with sob stories this season and this moment is nothing short of tragic.

Cooper Robinson's audition is many things: a disturbing tribute to James Brown, an attempt at fleeting viral-video fame or perhaps just a deafening cry for help. No matter how you slice it, there was no way Robinson was going to be "the next American, American," or whatever he imagined this competition was about, about.
