Oprah Winfrey and Roseanne Barr buried a hatchet that apparently didn't exist Monday on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated). Barr was under the impression that Oprah had been holding a grudge against her for years, while Oprah professed to have no idea they were feuding.

Why did Roseanne think she and Oprah weren't on good terms? "Because I piss everybody off sooner or later," joked Barr.

The specifics of their imagined feud weren't exactly clear. Roseanne thought it might have had something to do with her support of Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary. Not so, said Oprah. Perhaps it was over a disputed arm wrestling match from 10 years ago? Well, they played the tape, and it showed both ladies clearly cheating their way through the contest, but having a good time doing it. "You thought I cheated?" Winfrey said, nonplussed, as the two began to laugh like old friends.

The good news after all the confusion? Oprah and Roseanne partisans can finally put down their pitchforks and come home. Our long national nightmare is over.
