doctor who top gear'Doctor Who' mastermind Steven Moffat crafted a thrilling and emotional adventure in 'A Christmas Carol,' last year's 'Doctor Who' Christmas special.

'Carol' holds a special place in the hearts of fans; it was the first 'Who' holiday episode to air in the U.S. on Christmas day. The ep was praised for its imaginative, timey-wimey narrative and its strong emotional punch.

This new classic, on DVD and Blu-Ray today, also boasts fine turns from special guest stars Michal Gambon and international singing star Katherine Jenkins, and, of course, the Doctor himself, Matt Smith.

Also new on DVD and Blu-ray today are the 14th and 15th seasons of 'Top Gear,' the hit BBC series about all things auto. Nab both seasons and put a smile on your favorite motorhead's face.

We're giving away two sets of 'Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol,' 'Top Gear 14' and 'Top Gear 15' -- one on DVD and one on Blu-ray. For details, scroll to the bottom of this post.

I found this to be one of the more believable movies about vampires, ghosts, ect...the characters have more realistic human emotions than most. This is a really hot show!

I have several favorite Top Gear bits, such as:
When Jeremy drove the tiny car inside BBC HQ.
When Jeremy drove the 3-wheeled car that kept rolling over.
The trip through the US South and they had derogatory things painted on their vehicles.

My favorite Doctor Who moment is when the Doctor is trying to explain the non-linear causality of time in the Blink episode: "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect... but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly.... timey-wimey.... stuff." I love how the techno-babble devolves into nonsense!

Just one favorite moment of Doctor Who? That's hard!

Since you are offering the Christmas Carol, I will tell you one that happened during season 5. During Vincent and the Doctor, such a beautiful episode, the Doctor and Amy take Vincent back to the museum. While the museum guide tells the crew about how wonderful Van Gogh was and his impact his art had on the world. Vincent is so overcome. In a sad, sweet way Amy expect this to lengthen his life. Even though it doesn't, the idea some one could have a glimpse into the future to see if they had an impact is really brilliant.

I have far too many favorite Doctor Who moments, but the one I'll go with today (and it's probably because I just watched this run of episodes) is from Turn Left, at the end when Donna realizes she has to throw herself in front of a truck to alter the timeline and fix the world. Such a fabulous moment for her - because she's so brave and awesome. And it also leads to another favorite moment of mine where she tells the Doctor a blond girl told her to tell him "Bad Wolf." LOVE.

My favorite 'Top Gear' moment occurred a few nights ago in the latest season where the guys were the "Three Kings". When the extra wheel parts started falling off of Jeremy's modified 'sneaking across the desert' car and all the comments he had with it, I was laughing to the point where I could barely breath.

As for Doctor Who, I loved the end of the 'gas-mask wearing zombies' episode (season 1) when the Doctor exclaims, "EVERYBODY LIVES, ROSE! JUST THIS ONCE, EVERYBODY LIVES!" Such a good episode with a perfect ending. Or the running joke about not being 'a ginger'. :)

My favorite Doctor Who moments have got to be the offhand comments he makes when they are least expected. A perfect example of this is Tom Baker always popping in with "jelly baby?" That never fails to crack me up!

One of my many favorite Top Gear moments is way back in Series 7 when Clarkson is in the Bugatti Veyron and May is piloting the Cessna 182 with Hammond as passenger and they are racing from Alba, Italy to London. One of their best races! And best episodes.
James: "Stop whinging about the ruddy in-flight food, man! And don't jig about because we're climbing... We're struggling in a minute..."
Richard: "I am not jigging! How rubbish is this thing if I can't even lift a chocolate bar to my face without it crashing into a mountain?" I hope they do something like that again.

My favorite Doctor Who moment is also from my favorite Doctor Who episode. Series 3's "Blink": When the Doctor warns: "Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck."
