On 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated), Alex Trebek explains how Watson, an IBM supercomputer, managed to miss the Final Jeopardy question in the second night of a three-part man vs. machine showdown on 'Jeopardy.'

While pitted against past champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, Watson incorrectly answered a geography question by apparently mistaking Toronto as a major U.S. city. And yet, the supercomputer still managed to soundly beat both human champs.

Trebek said the official explanation from IBM is that Watson was citing an actual American city. "There is a Toronto, apparently, in Iowa," he said.
