William Shatner and Craig Ferguson Complain About the Lack of Network Promos for Their Shows (VIDEO)
William Shatner couldn't have found a better personality to commiserate about a lack of promotion for his show than Craig Ferguson. Ferguson has been lamenting the lack of everything to do with money in regards to 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM on CBS) for as long as he's been host. When Shatner asked him if the network promoted his show, Ferguson responded, "No, no! They're not entirely sure I'm on."
Shatner said he felt the same way about '$#*! My Dad Says.' "I watched the Grammys and I'm looking for promos."
Alas, Ferguson said they needed to promote expensive shows like 'Hawaii Five-0.' When Shatner argued that his show was expensive as well, Ferguson responded, "Well, you. You cost a lot of money."
Nevertheless, while it's not doing as well as its nerdy lead-in on Thursday nights, '$#*! My Dad Says' is certainly holding up very well against some very stiff competition.
Maybe the challenge is in the fact that you can't say the name of the show. Shatner went ahead and dropped the s-bomb in talking about it. "You can say 'S***,' right?" he asked innocently, as if he didn't know.
"Not really, no," Ferguson told him. Luckily, thanks to Ferguson's own incessant cursing, 'The Late Late Show' is prepared for such things and was able to censor Shatner without missing a beat. It's a bit more awkward to have to censor a network promo, and 'Bleep My Dad Says' still sounds awkward on the tongue. Still, it's a better name than 'Cougar Town.'
