Gwyneth Paltrow Resolves 'Glee' / Kings of Leon Feud, January Jones Talks 'Mad Men' and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 17th 2011 1:10PM
Gwyneth PaltrowThe Kings of Leon and Ryan Murphy have resolved their feud in the form of an unlikely peacemaker: Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress, who starred in Murphy's 2006 film 'Running With Scissors,' took it upon herself to patch things up between the feuding parties -- via text message, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After the band said they wouldn't license their music to 'Glee,' Murphy, uh, quoted the lyrics to the non-censored version of Cee Lo's 'Forget You.' The band insisted it often turns down such requests and it wasn't meant as an insult to the show, but drummer Nathan Followill got into a war of words with Murphy on Twitter.

According to THR's source, though, after Paltrow's intervention "it's all good now."

In other TV news ...

January Jones thinks everyone should just chill out about 'Mad Men' because she's certain a new season will eventually be filmed. "People should relax," she said about speculation over the ongoing contract discussions that have stalled production on the yet-to-be-announced season 5. [Entertainment Weekly]

VH1 announced a star-packed lineup for the 15th season of its popular 'Storytellers' series. Kings of Leon will lead off the new season, which is set to premiere in May. Also getting episodes of their own are Death Cab for Cutie, Cee Lo Green, Maxwell, My Morning Jacket and Ray Lamontagne. [THR]

Though it was rumored that Michael Vick cancelled his 'Oprah' appearance because the Eagles told him to, reps for the football team said they weren't involved. In fact, they planned to attend the taping to show support for their quarterback. [USA Today]

The USA network is bringing its Character Awards to television for the first time. 'Character Approved: Honoring 12 Cultural Trailblazers' will air on March 8 at 11PM following the 'White Collar' season 2 finale. [Deadline]

Browncoats rejoice: 'Firefly' is returning to TV. Not with new episodes, unfortunately. The Science Channel will air the entire series of the cult favorite, along with new extras. [EW]

I never knew Gwyneth Paltrow could sing. She killed it at the Grammys too. Who do you think has been the best cameo so far? I read this article the other day about the best celebrity appearances. I totally disagree with the order. What do you guys think? http://www.thecampussocialite.com/5-best-celebrity-guest-stars-on-glee/
