Yvette Nicole Brown on Her 'Community' Pregnancy and Stalking Guest Stars (VIDEO)

Yvette Nicole BrownIn the world of 'Community,' getting your dream guest star on the show can be easy as asking.

Star Yvette Nicole Brown actively campaigned for her character Shirley's husband, Andre, to be played by Malcolm-Jamal Warner. And just like that, it happened!

"Lord knows I talked about him enough on the set in the first season," Brown told me when she stopped by TV Squad's offices recently to dish about the NBC comedy (Thursdays, 8PM ET).

"The idea that they actually listened to my foolishness and my campaigning and brought this wonderful man on set has made me happy beyond belief."

As for who she's asking for next, Brown said she's laying off on the hints. "I had a little campaign for Isaiah Mustafa as well, and Dan Harmon said, 'You know, Yvette, you can't order a human,'" she joked, and noted that 'Community' hasn't had any trouble lining up big names to come on the show. "We've had an embarrassment of riches -- we've had Betty White, Levar Burton is coming on an episode."

Brown's had some really juicy material to work with lately, now that Shirley is pregnant -- but whether the child is her husband's or the spawn of the wacky Señor Chang (from their Halloween one-night stand) is currently unknown.

"I think she's just craving a baby that is 100 percent African-American at this point," Brown laughed. "I don't think Shirley wants a half-crazy baby."

But while Shirley may want Andre to be the father, but let's face it -- Señor Chang as a dad is comedy gold. Maybe they could work it out?

"It would take a lot of therapy on Señor Chang's part -- and maybe even Shirley's -- for them to find any way to be together," Brown said.

As for what's next, all Brown would say is that there are some surprises coming up, but she does hope to work more with Donald Glover, who plays Troy. "There's never been a Shirley/Troy-centric episode," she noted. "You've never seen Shirley and Troy by themselves doing anything, and I feel like there's a story there that would be great to see."

So far, the second season of 'Community' has yielded some great parodies ('Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design,' 'Epidemiology'). The cult fave has had "something for everybody," Brown said. "There's a certain group of people that watch the show that love the chicken fingers and the paintball wars, and there's another group that likes stuff like the bottle episode and more character-driven episodes."

Whatever their episodic preferences, 'Community' fans have been known to be, well, fanatic.

"There's some things happening on Twitter that I'm keeping my eye on in regards to fans," Brown joked. "I love that they love us, but some people ... they love us."
