Sofia Vergara Was Once Advised to Lose Weight (VIDEO)

Sofia Talks Weight-Loss on 'The Talk'Sofia Vergara now has fashion designers clamoring to create custom gowns for her. But before she was famous, the 'Modern Family' actress couldn't find anything to wear to black-tie industry events.

Dresses lent to her were usually size 0, she said on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). "I could never wear like really fashionable things ... I couldn't even pick a color or a designer." Vergara was advised to lose weight and shown photos of other actresses on the red carpet. She responded, "They might look better in pictures, but I look better naked!"

She was so right to say that the skeleton girls might look good in pictures but she looks better naked! No man likes to lay down with a bag of bones! She's a beautiful woman and good for her for standing up to some jack ass who told her to lose weight!

And who sets the "standards", Joe? YOU? ME? It's very simple... we can change the image... we can change the negativity. We can all just shut-up and let people be who they are. You don't see the same "standards" being set-up for men. And I would never go on the air, or on a comment board and berate an actor I think is "too fat." It amazes me that so many people think that their image of beautiful is the only one that counts. ???

Women do not realize they are at the focal point at most businesses and need to keep their weight in control. As an example, would you hire someone like Michele who has to wear very tight corsets to keep her waist in control?

SHE WAS PROBABLY TOLD THAT BY SOME MORONIC 'DESIGNER' WHO THINKS WOMEN SHOULD BE WAIF THIN, LIKE REFUGEES FROM BLOOD BANKS.......WOMEN ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE CURVES, VERGARA HAS PLENTY AND LOOKS FANTASTIC. DESIGNERS ARE ANOTHER WORLD AWAY FROM REAL LIFE.
