Kiefer Sutherland Officially Books Lead in 'Touch'

Kiefer Sutherland'24' fans still waiting for that much-rumored-about movie should probably let out that collective breath before something bad happens -- it's probably not going to happen any time soon now that Kiefer Sutherland has officially signed on to star in a new pilot.

According to TV Line, the man formerly known as Jack Bauer will star in the Fox drama pilot 'Touch.' From 'Heroes' creator Tim Kring and 20th Century Fox TV, the pilot is Kring's first foray into television since the cancellation of 'Heroes' last year.

Sutherland will play a father who "discovers that his autistic, mute son can predict events before they happen."

Since the actor is currently starring on Broadway in an all-star revival of Jason Miller's play 'That Championship Season,' production on the pilot won't start until May or June. Charles McDougall, who directed the pilots for 'Desperate Housewives,' 'The Good Wife' and most recently the police drama 'The Chicago Code,' is set to direct.

Last month Sutherland said he was "very excited" about the prospect of shooting the '24' movie this year, but last we heard, producers were still said to be searching for the right script.
