'Dancing With the Stars' Season 12 Cast Rumors
Polish up those tap shoes and make sure all the sequins are intact -- it's almost time for 'Dancing With the Stars'!Last season, 'DWTS' cast rumors were flying fast and furiously, thanks in part to Bristol Palin. However, season 12 rumors have been pretty tame.
Here's what we know so far:
Former Tea Party senate candidate Christine O'Donnell has been approached by producers. O'Donnell had this to say on her Facebook page: "I just got the Official 'Ask' from Dancing With The Stars !! Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!" That's not a firm "No."
O'Donnell, a Palin family favorite, has been rumored to be in talks since season 11 ended. She'd certainly bring the political controversy Bristol Palin did, but would she be as likable?
'The View' host Joy Behar said on Wednesday's show that she believes O'Donnell should do it. "She can put a hex on all her opponents," Behar joked, "and definitely will win."The ladies also discussed 'DWTS' cast wish list, which included Behar herself. Her fellow co-hosts urged her to join the cast, despite her lack of ability ("I'm like one of those bobbleheads," Behar demurred).
"Joy, you are the perfect person for 'Dancing With the Stars' because they take a person who doesn't know how to dance and they teach you how to do it," Sherri Shepherd said.
"And it's a great diet," Elisabeth Hasselbeck added.
UPDATE: According to PerezHilton.com, E! reality star Kendra Wilkinson and 'Cheer's star Kirstie Alley will be part of this season's 'Dancing' cast. Alley has been a rumored name for years, looks like she's finally signed on the dotted line.
The gossip site is also reporting movie star Faye Dunaway has signed on for season 12.
Former WWE champion Chris Jericho has been a long-rumored favorite to join the dancing competition. He has the fandom and according to FanHouse, he's been teasing his fans with a big announcement. "It would be nice to [join 'DWTS' or the band Velvet Revolver] but that's not what I'm thinking about when I'm talking about my announcement," Jericho said in a recent interview.
Talk show host Wendy Williams would bring a va-va-voom factor to the series, but is she doing it? According to the New York Post she is, however he reps have shot down the report. Sort of. A representative of Williams told the Post, "We have no confirmation on that." And a rep for 'The Wendy Williams Show' told the newspaper, "Production hasn't added any last-minute or unplanned hiatus days to the schedule." However, PerezHilton.com reports Williams will be on the series.Madonna's ex, Carlos Leon, told E! Online he'd do the show. Leon, the father of Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, said he was offered a spot on the show a few years ago, but turned them down. However, now he wants on. "I got offered to do 'Dancing With the Stars' a couple years back. I didn't do it, but if they come up with the offer again, I would totally do it."
Meanwhile, it seems like everyone has turned the show down. Al Sharpton has shot down producers once again. He told TMZ he has the dancing skill, but doesn't have the time.
'The Chicago Code' star Jennifer Beals has been approached by producers, but she told People.com she rejected the offer. "I am not a dancer," Beals, the star of 'Flashdance,' said. "They asked me and I said 'no.' You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn't do it."Brett Favre has been another long-rumored name, but his daughter shot down the reports on Twitter.
Portia De Rossi generated a ton of buzz when she was approached to be one part of the first same-sex 'Dancing' couple. However, according to PopEater, she turned down producers.
