Chris Medina's 'American Idol' Elimination Reduces Jennifer Lopez to Tears (VIDEO)

Chris Medina eliminated, 'American Idol'Perhaps because she's been told "No" so many times early in her own career, Jennifer Lopez has struggled with that part of her job all season long.

But no "NO" had such an impact on her when fan favorite Chris Medina was cut just short of the 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) Top 24.

His story of standing by his severely disabled fiancée touched America's heart, and his heartfelt performances touched the judges week after week. But it ultimately wasn't enough in the final moments, as the judges were faced with so many great competitors.

After letting him down, Lopez collapsed into tears, unable to continue. She seemed to be taking the cut worse than Medina.

"I just don't feel like I told him in the right way," she lamented. She wanted to assure him that it wasn't a reflection of his talent. Hopefully, he'll come back next year stronger and better than ever and blow everyone away again.

If she liked him so much, and if she was so UPSET about telling him NO, then she should have let him pass, and let America vote and decide his fate. Chris Medina was good enough for the top 24!

Very unprofessional of Jennifer, and too much drama. Medina wasn't that great of a singer....period. He is however a wonderful soul. This is a singing competition, so far there has been too much personal "stuff" and sad stories brought in this season. Let's get to the real reason these kids are here.

American Idol is fortunate to have Jennifer Lopez as a judge. Not only is her talent and background a great credit to the show, she also has a good heart, is kind and truly cares about the young people she judges. It's a side of her I had not known before. She has my admiration and respect.

J.LO it's okay. America is full of haters though. I'm not trying to mean but you have to try. Try to put up with the elimantayions or we can't do the show. And I know J.LO star of "Selena" can do that. But beware of haters they'll always be bringing u down
