Could John Stamos Replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'?

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 28th 2011 4:30PM
John StamosLast week, John Stamos shot down rumors that he was in talks to replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men.' But those rumors have rekindled, and there might be some more truth to them this time.

According to E! Online, CBS chief Les Moonves chatted with Stamos on Saturday about possibly joining the network's hit sitcom.

"They were at the bar talking, and Les asked John if he'd be interested in replacing Charlie," a source told E!. "It wouldn't be to play Charlie's character, but they talked more about introducing a new character."

On Friday, though, Stamos tweeted, "Contrary to the rumors, I am not replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men.' However, Martin Sheen has asked me to be his son."

Stamos has been sorely underused in his 'Glee' guest spot as the dentist husband of guidance counselor Emma, so maybe there's something to this rumor. E! reports that Stamos' conversation with Moonves lasted about 15 minutes, but more formal talks haven't taken place yet.

I think the best choice for a replacement would be John Cusak. He is similar in personality and features and has done many different roles from comedy to drama... He is likable and familiar to everyone...

I think John would fit perfect in the role. Go for it.

I have a relative who acts just like Charlie Sheen. He is rich, a marijuana farmer, handsome and talks nonsense all the time, just like Sheen. Honestly, I hope Charlie straightens up, or he'll die of a heart attack soon.

LOL John Stamos replacing Charlie Sheen? Are you serious? Hmmm let me think what has he done in his carreer to be a lead in a series or anything/ Answer: nothing If he is such a great actor, then were has he been since his last series were he played a supporting role, how long ago was that 25+ years. First thing that comes to mind is who is he friends with on the two and a half men set or CBS. This guy is one horrible actor!

You are right.... I think that CBS should just cut their loses and suck it up it was after all their choice to
fire Charlie Sheen anyway and after all these years no one could even come close in replaceing him. I have seen every episode many times over and I will miss the show a lot.. But really you don't need to like the actors to like a show any show..... But in this case he made the show, actually the entire cast made the show
and if you take one away then you may as well take them all away.....Good Luck CBS

Yes he would. I loved the old show but Pecker face Chucky has ruined it for me. Somebody stick him with a pin and let all the hot air out before he explodes. His children have been taken away from him and his 2 ******.

Too late for Sheen. I think he has his TV roll mixed up with real life. He was great in the roll but now he is finished. The public can't take any more of his antics. Stamos would be GREAT in the show. It will take awhile to forget Charlie, but if anybody can do it, it is Stamos. Writers could Marry off Charlie to Rose, they could move to London, and never be heard from again, though it would be ashame to lose Rose, her role is very funny. I really believe the show can continue without Sheen!!!!!

Charlie seems to be way out and it gets worse. It is sad, but he is so used to doing crazy things, drunk, drugs, speaking so fast that he is running away with his nasty mouth. Is he a good actor - yes. Has he had too many chances to straighten up and fly right. He truly seems hopeless now. Jon Stamos would be a great addition to the show. He is handsome, right age, and can act accordingly. The show is only 30 minutes and Charlie expects 3Million dollars per episode. No one is worth that, and there are dozens of 60 minute shows. Charlie cannot think and make sense, as he is too far gone; and if he keeps this up, he will die. The entire show is affected by his antics, and with his D&D, he has no idea what he is doing to the cast and team who takes care of everything from lighting to cleaning up. I have had it with him, he is not to be trusted, his ego is so high that it is disgusting, and all his thoughts are induced with ego, drugs, booze, porn, etc. I can't imagine a well-paid actor-actress getting away with this. Time to get rid of the problem NOW, and try to save the end of the show.
