Fox News Suspends Presidential Candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 2nd 2011 3:00PM
Fox News has suspended contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum from commenting on the cable news station because they have both "signaled possible runs" for president.

Bret Baier made the announcement earlier Wednesday on 'Happening Now' (weekdays, 11AM ET on Fox News.")

"The suspension is effective for 60 days," Baier added. "Then on May 1 their contracts will be terminated unless they notify Fox that they are not running for president."

Baier went on to say that the suspension of presidential candidates during an election cycle is "Fox policy" and added that Wednesday's announcement "does not preclude other announcements."

This would suggest Fox News employees Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee will also be suspended if and when they give stronger signals that they will seek the GOP nomination.

So much for the "Fox News primary."

Does anyone find it strange that at least five potential GOP presidential candidates are FOX News employees? Doesn't that seem ODD to anybody?
