Jessica Simpson Rumored for 'X Factor'

NBC might have nabbed Christina Aguilera for its 'American Idol' competitor, 'The Voice,' but Simon Cowell is reportedly talking to another blond pop star for his upcoming American version of 'The X Factor,' and she's no stranger to reality TV.According to People magazine, Jessica Simpson is a "front-runner" to sit alongside Cowell as a judge on the upcoming singing competition. But don't get too worked up just yet -- no decisions have been made either way.
"There [are] loads of conversations happening at the moment," a source told People. "No one has been offered a judging role yet as new names keep coming forward who want the role, but there are some frontrunners and it's fair to say Jessica is one of them. She's very keen."
The singer (and 'Newlyweds' star) has already judged on reality TV before, having appeared on the most recent 'Project Runway' finale.
Another name on the list, according to Perez Hilton, is record exec Tommy Mottola (aka ex–Mr. Mariah Carey). Apparently he and Cowell are longtime buds.
"Simon and Tommy have known each other for years since their days at Sony, and Simon has wanted to get Tommy on board one of his shows for a long time," a source said. "They get on extremely well and this could be the moment where they finally get on screen together. Tommy's from the Bronx in New York, he's tough talking, doesn't pull any punches and will make great TV."
