Mickey Rooney Claims Elder Abuse While Testifying Before SenateMickey Rooney claimed he was the victim of elder abuse while testifying before a Senate committee that's considering legislation to address such mistreatment. The 90-year-old actor said he felt "trapped" and "scared" in footage shown on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC).

"For years I suffered silently. I didn't want to tell anybody. I couldn't muster the courage, and you have to have courage to [say], 'I need help.' Even when I tried to speak up I was told to shut up ... I felt trapped, scared, used and frustrated," said Rooney, adding that abuse like this can "happen to anyone."

In court documents filed last month, Rooney accused stepson Chris Aber of withholding food and medication, selling his personal items, and meddling in his finances.

This just makes my stomach turn. The young and the elderly, societies weakest ! put the step son through the legal process and wait for him to get old.

Why does Mr. Rooney, one of the greatest actors of all time and a favorite of mine, need a monitor for his statement?
