Vanessa Hudgens Shows Off Neck Tattoo on 'Regis and Kelly'On 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated), Vanessa Hudgens proudly shows off her new tattoo, a small green and purple butterfly located on her neck.

"I understand that you got the inevitable tattoo. I worry about those. Now, where is this tattoo?" Regis Philbin asked.

"I just got it. It's hard to ... it's right there," said Hudgens, uncovering her neck to reveal her new ink.

On 'The Late Show With David Letterman' last night, Hudgens said the tattoo was inspired by a moment where a butterfly landed on her mother's stomach a week before she was born, and by her name, which is a "Latin derivative" of the word "butterfly."

first of all I want to know what Vanessa's name has to do with her "latin" translation of butterfly? It's not even close to being the same...what a load of bullsh*t. In Spanish, the word is "mariposa" and the Latin translation is "papilio"... just sayin'..... she's boring.

Her tattoo looks nice but I think it is dumb. A lot of girls get tattoos of butterflies so its not original.

For the rest of her career, hair and make up will get an extra hour of work covering up this scar.

A permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

As I look at ther comments here, no one seems to be saying anything positive. I personally have no tattoos, but ones done tastefully are not as awful as alot of people on here are saying. What is this the tattoo bashing sight? If you dont like tatoos, rather than bash a person for what they like, maybe look at other articles. Dont waste your time being on here then!

Women don't age as well as men. Men can get away with alot more as we age, including having tattoos. A guy can have gray hair, wrinkles, and even a bit of a gut and still look good. Tattoos on women just adds to the skank factor as they age.

I actually think the tattoo looks very appropriate for a girl her age and for the meaning of it. The meaning is very special to her and it is not tacky nor is it shameful. It looks rather pretty and she is a pretty girl with a very meaningful tattoo to her. To each their own. Its not gawdy nor a bad representation of anything gang related. Its appropriate for a girl her age and status in the arts field. Nice tattoo!

Since when are tattoos a "woman thing?" Men are the ones who have the most of them. Sure, alot of women are getting them now but men still lead. So lets rephrase - "When a PERSON" gets old, way up in their 80's or whatever the tattoo will look horrible on that PERSON." Again, they are not a "woman thing" and never were. I also agree with the post below who said Vanessa Hudgens has a phony smile - she really does! I thought I was the only one who thought that. That is the most phoniest plastic smile I have ever seen on anyone.
