Taxidermy Reality Show: This Is Happening

by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 7th 2011 12:45PM
Mounted In Alaska, History ChannelTaxidermy fans, rejoice! A show about stuffing dead things to make them look alive is heading to History Channel.

Yes, that's right, according to Entertainment Weekly, History is launching 'Mounted in Alaska,' a series that follows a family-owned taxidermy shop.

Knight's Taxidermy will be the showcase of the half-hour series. Each episode will follow Russell Knight and his team of taxidermists, including his daughter Tina, she specializes in bearskin rugs, as they take on new jobs.
'Mounted' comes from Thinkfactory Media, the company behind 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' and Tony Danza's reality series 'Teach.'

With the success of 'Pawn Stars' it makes sense for History to branch out into another family-owned and outside the box reality series. After all, dead animals have history, right?

Now that taxidermy is getting the reality treatment, what about some of these other random reality shows our own Jean Bentley came up with? Come on, New York City's MTA is dying for reality treatment.

'Mounted in Alaska' premieres April 7 at 10PM on History.
