EXCLUSIVE: Rick Springfield Books a Guest Spot on 'Hawaii Five-0'

Rick Springfield'Hawaii Five-0' (Mondays, 10PM ET on CBS) has had its fair share of big name guest stars -- Dane Cook, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo, James Marsters and 'Iron Chef' Masaharu Morimoto have all stopped by.

Next up? The show continues the celebrity guest star streak with none other than '80s rocker-turned-soap star Rick Springfield.

Yep, the man who famously pined after 'Jesse's Girl,' had 'General Hospital' fans swooning as Dr. Noah Drake (and his doppleganger, rockstar Eli Love) and, most recently, played an exaggerated version of himself on 'Californication' is now getting the cop drama treatment in paradise.

AOL TV has the exclusive details on Springfield's 'Five-0' role as fashion photographer Renny, who we'll meet in an episode set to air this spring.

Here is the official character description:

RENNY
A world famous photographer, a force of nature, Renny is handsome, artistic and passionate. Renny is in Hawaii shooting a swimsuit cover alongside his model fiancé Kenza when tragedy strikes ...

Very exciting - love this actor and enjoyed his recent autobiography. Can't wait to see him play the handsome Photographer on Hawaii 5-O!

Looks are deceiving - he could play any role there is. As far as what has happened to his face, he has aged beautifully - must be some kinda magic potion. He looks 100 times better now than when I first saw him on GH in 1981 or so - He is as handsome now (if not more so) as Rick Nelson was at 41. Springfield is 61. I met and traveled with Rick Nelson 7/11/80 (at which time he was 41). Rick Springfield is 20 years ahead of ageless timing. Here's to 3/23/11 - Juliet turns 26 - (Barbara Jean was 26 when she again toured with Rick Nelson.) Just another example of AN ACT OF FAITH - BLIND OR KNOT - HERE'S OUR HEARTS - OUR LOVE IS IN IT.

I've never seen the show either, but I would like to see his FIANCE cast on that episode by the name of Juliet - she's an up-and-coming (actually well known by Hollywood peers from 1985 to 1996) as JULIET- actress/ singer/ (former model/dancer but still very capable). I'm sure Rick would approve or even request her - since he has the POWER to do so. C U on 3/26/11 - stage debut - come one, come all. Barbara Jean should be there too. VENUS IN OVERDRIVE 4EVER AND ALLWAYS.

Its nice to a hollywood star that looks their age(although I dont think Rick looks his age--almost 62). At least he does't use his $$ on Botox and drugs!!

Since Rick Springfield looks like he could play a baddie and since he was the first Tv Christopher Chance in 1992 on ABC-Tv's Human Target it would have been better to cast him as a villain on Fox's Human Target .
