this family functions better than many single marriages hands down. all of you who are downing and insulting this family are only doing so because you are jealous of the bounty and joy of this family. this man, and these women are taking care of their responsibilities. They are teaching their children to lead a good life and to be good people. what is really disgusting is all the insults and abuse many commenters are displaying. Shame on you for your hate. Is that what God has taught you. To hate others??? I don't think so. Just because its not what you like doesn't mean that it is wrong. I agree with Skyler08 , Why judge people when you have your own lives to worry about? Seriously, The Brown's look like a very decent and happy family and the kids look well behaved. The husband seems very supportive to all the wives. What is wrong with just being HAPPY? With all do respect they are not a problem in today's society, but drugs, alcohol abuse, cheating partners, murderers, child abuse, spousel abuse, sexual abuse, meaningless wars, etc........... I could go on and on........besides when did man's law become the right thing to do? since he decided he was much more powerful than god.? God's laws are already set in place and it is up to us to make the right choice and if we don't then as our creator and our father GOD is our rightful Judge.

I find it so funny how people can judge other people so easliy when they should be looking at there own life. Whats that saying don't throw stones when you live in a glass house. With all the other problems we have in this country and you have 4 adult women and 1 man that all Want to live this way and there childern have a roof over the head, clothes, food on the table and are learning to live and be productive people in society and you all want to b**** and complain about it. You want to put them in jail. Yet every single of one of you have drove past a drug dealer in your neiborhood or street corner. You have walked away when you saw someone beating there kid or husband, you have watched people begging for money on the street b/c they are drug addicts or poor and are just trying to get enough money to feed themselves. Yet, you have walked past them and done nothing for them. Thats the problem with are country today. Instead of focussing on the REAL problems and issues in society you are focussed on tearing these peoples lives apart. They did this so they wouldn't have to hid anymore just like when black people said we want equal rights and took a stand now how many years later we have a black president. Then gay and lesbian came out and said we live like everyone else also we want equal rights now slowly but surely they are getting there too. Well guess what American these Polygamist are coming out and saying we are not scared and we want to be treated like everyone else to this is who we are and how we live. I love this family so much. I really do. They have broken no laws and defrauded no one, not welfare, not insurance, not the IRS. Oh, and the wives are not biological sisters, duh. They run their family by complete consensus, not patriarchy or democracy. One wife is a student, one wife is a homemaker and home schools the kids, one is a wage earner and I have no info on the new wife. The hubby works full-time and they rotate this rooster in the henhouse. The wives love each other and the kids are collectively parented.

The whole thing sickens me. It is not the same as being gay to me, gay people still belive in 2 people who love one another.
Not 1 man and 4 women , with how many Kids?? and who knows how many more he will add.

I've watched this show - ONCE (and never again). My only question is why is only the man who can have multiple spouses? I mean really, why can't the women have more than one man? I guess their version of the Bible was written by a man.

To each his own. Personally, I find this disgusting. Even worse, because they are sisters. Saw 'em on the Oprah Show. Some of the wives didn't look or sound very contented, but he sure gloats like a fat cat.

On another note about the big family. what is the difference in this situation than these women who have several children by different men and let welfare take care of them. there is cases where it goes back to great- great grandmothers in the welfare system that have had children and never had a husband in the house. It makes you wonder how these women get pregnant. It keeps going on down the female line. probably this man takes care of his own children. If every man that gets a female pregnant has to take care of her and the baby until the child is 18.And that means her also. I wonder how many men would be 100 % careful and not impregnant anyone until they were ready to take on the full responsibility of a family.
