Scott Wolf Talks Fifth Column Politics, Double-Crossing and the 'V' Season Finale (VIDEO)
When it comes to capricious alien invaders hell-bent on (surreptitious) world domination, we think that the most sensible thing to do is stay on their good side. It's a strategy that's worked very well for Scott Wolf's character on ABC's 'V' thus far, with his duplicitous journalist, Chad Decker, playing devil's advocate for the Visitors on national television, while secretly working to undermine them behind the scenes.
But is Chad's luck about to run out? Reptilian queen Anna (Morena Baccarin) doesn't take kindly to people trying to sabotage her plans, and now that he's thrown his lot in with the anti-V group the Fifth Column, he's treading on thin ice, especially leading up to tonight's season finale.
We caught up with Wolf to get the scoop on what the final episode holds for Chad, the lengths his character will go to in order to stay on the winning side, and what his predictions are for a potential third season. Join us after the jump for more. Spoilers ahead.
Perhaps the biggest spoiler Wolf revealed seemed to indicate that at least one main character -- if not more -- wouldn't live to see the end of the finale. But is Chad at risk? Watch our chat with Wolf below to learn more.
As Wolf pointed out during our conversation, though 'V' is a "bubble" show (meaning a show that's in danger of cancellation but also capable of being renewed, depending on the network's lineup for next season) both the cast and creative team believe that there's still plenty of fertile ground for the show to cover creatively, and having visited the set and met with the enthusiastic and passionate cast, we're certainly rooting for them to have the opportunity to continue their adventures next season.
You don't want to miss tonight's season finale, entitled 'Mother's Day,' which airs at 9PM ET on ABC. Check out the summary for the episode below:
"Mother's Day" -- Anna is focused on having Lisa breed with Tyler to ensure the evolution of the Visitors, while Erica and Diana enlist Lisa to stage a coup against Anna and remove her from power before humanity is destroyed. Erica and the Fifth Column join Lisa in the attempted coup, which has devastating results, on the shocking Season Two finale of 'V,' TUESDAY, MARCH 15 (9:00–10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. Also in the episode, Marc Singer, who played freedom fighter Mike Donovan on the original 'V' series, will guest star as Lars Tremont, a member of a top secret organization of high-ranking military and government leaders from around the globe who have long suspected that the Visitors are very much not here in peace.
