EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Two Peeks at the 'Parks and Recreation' Harvest Festival

by Maureen Ryan, posted Mar 17th 2011 9:45AM
'Parks and Recreation' returns Thursday with a high-stakes episode: Leslie Knope has bet the entire future of the parks department on the success of Pawnee's Harvest Festival. If the festival isn't a hit, she and her colleagues could be out of jobs.

It's a delightful, comedically deft episode, one that depicts in the mildly demented world of Pawnee in loving detail. So it's gratifying that we'll be able to watch a longer version of the episode on the show's site Friday morning. The 'Parks and Recreation' team is creating extended Producers' Cuts of four upcoming episodes, including 'Harvest Festival.'

Details on the Producers' Cuts and two exclusive clips from 'Harvest Festival' are below.

In the first clip from Thursday's episode, Ben Wyatt's education into the quirks of Pawnee continues. This is the extended, Producers' Cut version of 'Harvest Festival''s opening scene:

In the second clip, the parks team meets with a constituent:

If you need to extend your Pawnee experience, check out this site after 9:15ET Thursday. The site will have a special Harvest Festival section that'll give you the chance to play a game, learn more about Pawnee celebrity Lil Sebastian and check out a map of the Harvest doings. You can even pick up T-shirts like the ones seen in the episode.

Regarding the extended Producers' Cuts of upcoming episodes, each extended version will be posted online the morning after the episode airs (the shorter version of each episode will be posted as well). Here are the other episodes that are set to get the Producers' Cut treatment:

• 'Jerry's Painting,' which airs April 28

• 'The Fight,' which airs May 12

• 'Lil Sebastian,' which airs May 19 (Two episodes of 'Parks and Rec' will air that night, and those episodes will close out the show's third season.)

For more on where the third season of 'Parks and Recreation' has been and where it's headed, check out this recent interview with the show's co-creator, Michael Schur.
