Hoda and Matt Bomer Defend 'Friday' YouTube Sensation Rebecca Black on 'Today' (VIDEO)
Hoda Kotb and guest co-host Matt Bomer of 'White Collar' sang along to Rebecca Black's YouTube hit 'Friday' on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC). Then, they weighed in with their own opinions on the much-maligned song."The song, they criticize it for being inane and stupid with the lyrics. [But], I sort of like it," said Kotb.
"Listen, it's got a fun beat. It's fun for young girls to get down to," Bomer said. "You know, what's wrong with that?"
Bomer continued to defend Black and her song, arguing that the teen singer should ignore the large amount of criticism she's received over the past week. "You know what? Go on. Don't worry about what those people say on the Internet," he said. "You keep doing your thing, baby."
