'The Venture Bros.' and New TV Shows on DVD, Streaming Online for March 22, 2011

the venture bros. season 4 blu-rayIt could be argued that the world is split into two camps: those who get and love 'The Venture Bros.' and those who don't.

The bizarre, hilarious and (sometimes) brilliant Adult Swim series skewers the conventions of 1960s action toons like 'Johnny Quest' and 'Space Ghost' while paying homage to their silly and antiquated storytelling and animation styles. But 'The Venture Bros.' is much, much more than a campy parody show.

In four short seasons, creator Jackson Publick has crafted an intricate mythology for his cracked fantasy world that features an ever-growing cast of weirdo scientists, adventurers, heroes, and villains with dueling agendas, strange love lives and shifting personalities.

The Complete Fourth Season, available today on Blu-ray along with Season 4, Volume 2 on DVD, follows the Venture family as they're separated from brawny bodyguard Brock Samson and Dean Venture is tasked with killing Hitler, whose soul has been transferred to a bull dog. Yeah, a bull dog. Like I said, two camps!
