The 'Glee' Bullying/'Born This Way' Episode Will Be 90 Minutes
Get ready for a very special episode of 'Glee.' So special, in fact, that the episode is being expanded to 90 minutes instead of the usual 60.The episode in question is the long-anticipated 'Born This Way' installment, in which bully Karofsky finally comes to terms with the fact that he's gay (presumably ... at least that's what we gather from past interviews with creator Ryan Murphy), but it will also feature several other characters struggling with acceptance and body-image issues, TV Line reports.
The story will obviously end with a triumphant rendition of Lady Gaga's hit, but throughout the episode, the zaftig Lauren Zizes (TV Squad BFF Ashley Fink) will run for prom queen, an unorthodox candidate for sure, and Rachel will consider getting a nose job, something star Lea Michele has been open about struggling with in the past.
Once producers get the official OK from the network, they'll use the 30 extra minutes to pack two extra musical numbers into the episode, which has mostly been shot already. It's not a Madonna- or Britney-style tribute, so the other songs won't necessarily be Lady Gaga, but we're hoping she gets at least one more for a Bieber-style homage.
More singing and dancing? Count us in. Especially if there's more Gaga on the menu.
No word yet on the scheduled air date for the episode.
Tell us: Does the prospect of an extra half hour of 'Glee' make you giddy, or does it make you want to change the channel?
