Caught Cheating on the Diet at 'The Biggest Loser' Ranch (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 30th 2011 12:48AM
Rulon, 'The Biggest Loser'It's been a wild few weeks on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), and nowhere has it been crazier than on the scale. It's gotten to where you just have no idea what to expect from these contestants with their constant gameplay and multiple thrown weigh-ins.

This week's drama, however, came from a secret that's apparently been burning beneath the surface of one contestant's journey through much of the season. No one can deny that Rulon has had impressive numbers on the scale, and more than proven himself a capable athlete in the gym. His Olympic gold medal proved that years ago.

His demons clearly lie more in the area of food. You don't get to nearly 500 pounds, obviously, without some food abuse problems, but usually contestants leave that behind when they come on the ranch.

Revealed this week was Rulon's bad habit of sneaking food into his room and eating in what he thinks is privacy. Clearly he failed to remember that there are cameras in every room of the house. It's not even hidden.

So what looked like a weigh-loss plateau of sorts this week turned out to be more a matter of an entire bag of tortilla chips eaten last night.

Lucky for Rulon, even worse decisions by other contestants this week kept him from elimination, but it was still a hard lesson to face. He was man enough to not make excuses for his mistakes, but he still has to face Jillian in the aftermath of the revelation next week.

What I have seen this season is the theme is "Let's Cheat" for whatever reason. The goal isn't to lose weight, it's let's cheat and see how much we can get away with. If you don't want to be there, then leave. No one is holding a gun to their head.

I haven't been watching this season, but it is so irritating to see people who are not taking advantage of that great priviledge of being there (and getting PAID for it!) when there were 1000's of people who lined up for the chance to be there. and he's blowing, like that girl last week that was featured crying and doing subversive stuff because she wanted to go home. They have a chance to turn their lives around, and they are blowing it.

If contestants on the Biggest Loser are on the ranch with no contact with family or friends, how was a contestant able to get chips, etc. that he was not supposed to have?

When he was being yell at by Miss Michaels, he immediately cross his arms. This gesture suggest the feeling of intimination and feeling threatened in the daunting situation he put himself in.

No, the body language of crossing your arms means that you are closed off and not listening or receptive to what you are hearing. It has nothing to do with intimidation and/or feeling threatened.

it also is body language for "you are making me mad and I don't care what you say." Much more that than he's threatened.

I wouldn't be surprised if the producers paid him to do it and everyone including Jillian was in on it. Drama keeps the ratings up and "TBL"'s are probably drooping more than my untoned tummy. (and that's saying alot)
