Charlie Sheen Bombs on the Opening Night of His Live Show in Detroit

by PopEater Staff, posted Apr 3rd 2011 10:45AM
Charlie SheenAccording to various accounts, last night's opening night of Charlie Sheen's 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option' tour could not be filed under the category of "winning!" A sold-out crowd of more than 4,500 packed into the Fox Theater in Detroit. From all reports, it was a thoroughly disastrous night for the "warlock."

First, audience members heckled the warm-up comedian so badly, according to RadarOnline.com, Sheen had to step onstage and intervene -- to no avail. The comic was booed off the stage, and house lights soon came up, causing the impatient masses to grow even more restless.

When the headliner himself launched into his first tour performance, an hour after the disjointed show first started, EW.com reports that a standing ovation for the former 'Two and a Half Men' star soon gave way to boos, jeers and walk-outs. Sources say many asked for their money back.
The concert is promoted by LiveNation as the launch of a 20-city tour with dates throughout the month of April. Inside, souvenirs were hawked to fans, such as $20 programs and $30 T-shirts ("F---ing Brilliant!" and "I'm on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen").

The flailing show featured scores of video clips, including fan tributes from YouTube, violent film excerpts and one of Sheen just playing Call of Duty. At one point, the TV actor reportedly shrugged off his poor reception with the comeback, "I've already got your money!"

A witness to the disaster reported more of Sheen's remarks, many delivered while he leaned on a lectern: "Tonight is an experiment"...."I am finally here to identify and train the Vatican assassin locked inside each and every one of you"...."Show of hands here who has tried crack? (Crickets) I don't do crack anymore, but this is a good f---ing night to do some crack"...."Is anybody else as confused by this s--t as I am? I wrote every word!"

Sheen tried engaging the audience by asking if anyone had questions, but when a woman asked for his best porn star story, he allegedly declined to open up about that topic.

The actor is due to bring his live show to Chicago tonight. The Chicago Tribune reports that toward the end of the Detroit show, catcalls drowned out both a guest appearance by rapper Simon Rex and a new video based on Snoop Dogg's collaboration with Sheen, a new song all about "winning."

The Detroit Free Press says Sheen's debut concert, advertised with the tag line 'Defeat is Not an Option,' ended 70 minutes after the star took the stage, as the remaining "disappointed" and "angry" fans exited. A local radio host, Drew Lane, said the tour will surely jeopardize Sheen's career: "It was bad...People were upset....He's a movie star, not a stand-up comic."

Well It's sad when so called actors and actresses have to do drugs, alcohol, and Steal stuff just to get attention or to function in their life and their profession. These people use the courts media any other means for attention. If people ignor then they will go away. And maybe the good professional actors and actresses can have a chance.
There are a lot of them out there All they need is a chance.
Until this happens I'll stay home and watch cartoons which makes mors sense, and the Weather Channel.
Thank You

Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had become un-manageable.

I went to see Sheen in Ft Lauderdale....after hearing about previous shows, I was expecting the worse. I actually enjoyed it...If Two and a half men return without charlie, I will not watch it..... no offense to the other stars of the show,,,,I am a 63 yr old , married, catholic woman, with grandchildren and have a decent income...(which Obama is going to tax ..because we have a better than average income and have WORKED for it ). I do not agree with what Mr Sheen does personally, or actually his character on the show, but it seems he is "living" his character...entertainment is entertainment....what the media creates with ones personal life is pathetic...and I am glad he is taking this on......The media is to blame ...makes or breaks a show, a person, a future,,,,we have to learn that media...in any form, ie print, video, so called news etc can have a major impact. the bottom line is $$$$$$. We are all entitled to make an income...but lets not do it by destroying each other.

I Would love to see the show come back. There are too many great characters that have carried the show for a long time. Even when I got tired of Charlies' antic, there was Alan and Berta.
