Gwyneth Paltrow Uncovers a Kabbalah Master in Her Ancestry on 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (VIDEO)

Gwyneth Paltrow, 'Who Do You Think You Are?'Gwyneth Paltrow has come to appreciate Kabbalah and practices it in her life. What she didn't know is that her family has a connection to it dating back many generations, as revealed on 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (Fri., 8PM ET on NBC).

Tracing back along her father's family line, she came to a surprise. Her great-great-great grandfather, Tzvi Hirsch, was a rabbi. Even more than that, he was a master of Kabbalah.

In her journey a book was uncovered, written by the rabbi's son. In it, he details a story of a fire that erupted in the town.

"A great panic ensued," the actress read. "However, Rabbi Hirsch went out to the balcony of his house, waved his hankerchief towards the fire and the fire was extinguished. Since then, they say a fire that erupts in the town will not spread very much for the blessing of our Hirsch protects us."

Paltrow was certainly touched to find that connection to Kabbalah in her lineage, and was appreciative of the reverence with which this man was considered. "This is kind of blowing my mind," she said.

MOST NAME ARE CHANGED SO IT IS POSSIBLE THAT GWEN PALTROW IS JEWISH. ALSO SOME SIR NAMES CAN BE JEWISH SOME ARE NOT LIKE HARRIS CAN BE BOTH SAME GOES FOR KAGAN.

How was Paltrow able to trace her lineage that far back? The Nazis murdered six million Jews in World War II and destroyed many records. Most Jewish people are unable to trace their heritage more than a couple of generations.

First of all I don't think Paltrow is Jewish. Of course I don't know for sure since we travel in different circles. I was told that Portman gave a great performance in Black Swan. But I didn't see it since it isn't my type of movie. As far as Jews controlling Hollywood, there are quite a few Jews who make pictures but control, I don't think so. Only about 1 1/2% of the USA population is Jewish & about .001% of the world's population is Jewish. I don't really think they control any particular industry or profession. But I must admit many of them are high profile because they take on "unpopular causes" & many do excel at what they do. I don't get down on them for that. After all isn't that what America is about.

Gywneth is a phony and a fake. She will stop at nothing to stand in the limelight. If you haven't read her ridiculous webpage directing us to the pharmacy in France to get facial care products YOU SHOULD.

She is a daughter of another Jewish daughters that is in entertainment industry. Like the Chinese saying, they will never let the fat water flow out elsewhere so if you understand the concept to INNER CIRCLE..Why do you think Jewish people are so successful? Here it is..,.

I tried to watch it on tv but there was no voice sound only backgroud music.
After 15 min. of that I shut it off. I live in the Philly area., anybodyelse have that trouble?
