Miranda Lambert Developing ABC Family Series Based on Her Awesome Childhood
I knew a couple of things about Miranda Lambert before today. She's a talented country music singer; she's engaged to Blake Shelton; she was on the country version of 'American Idol.' But I definitely did not know that she had a childhood that's seemingly ripped from the pages of a book series I totally would've read as a kid.Lambert was raised by her former police officer–turned–private investigator father and P.I. mother in Texas. Um, awesome? How is that not the FIRST thing we knew about her?! I'd definitely lead with that at every party I ever attended. "Hi, I'm Miranda, I was raised the child of two P.I.s. I'm basically the original Veronica Mars."
Anyway, Deadline is reporting that Lambert is turning her super-cool childhood into a new series for ABC Family. The show will focus on two kids who help their P.I. parents solve cases.
The project is in the "very early stages of development," according to Deadline, so it will likely be a while before the show actually hits screens (assuming it gets picked up, but why wouldn't it because it sounds awesome).
Lambert and her mother will serve as executive producers, with Scott Kaufer of 'Memphis Beat' writing and executive producing.
This weekend, Lambert won four trophies at the ACM awards. In February, she won the best female country vocal performance Grammy.
Tell us: Does this show sound as awesome to you as it does to me? Will you watch it if ABC Family picks it up?
