Joy Behar Asks 'The Real Housewives of New York' How Real The Show Is (VIDEO)

The debate on how real reality television is, may never be fully resolved, but the women of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' kept the discussion alive and well on 'The View' (Weekdays, syndicated on ABC). First, Jill Zarin said she thought what happened between her and Bethenny Frankel was "sort of drama for the show" and that they would then make up.Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Actually, for Bravo it may have worked out for the best as Frankel is now off and running with her own successful show.
"So you're saying that things are faked?" Joy Behar asked, but the women evaded and moved on.
It came around again when Kelly Bensimon said of herself, "I make great television and Bethenny and I create better television, so I mean that's what it is."
"Is it about the TV or is it real?" Behard asked, going back to her original question. While people who decry it all as fake seem certain of this opinion, they've no more evidence of certainty than those who believe it's all as real as the lives we all lead off-camera.
One thing's for sure, people are just as passionate about reality television today as they were ten years ago when it blasted into the spotlight. And the debate about just how real it is remains one of the key components of its mystique and our fascination.
