'American Idol's' Scotty McCreery Gets His Elvis On! (VIDEO)
Scotty McCreery reached a little deeper into his repertoire, without heading into alien territory for the country crooner on 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX). With the theme based around the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, McCreery went with a song that became Elvis Presley's first single, 'That's Alright, Mama.'First recorded by blues singer Arthur Crudup, the song was a natural fit for McCreery's vocal style, and he even added a little blues swagger to his vocal presentation. Or was that a little bit of something else?
"Do you watch rap, or hip-hop, or anything like that," Jennifer Lopez asked him. "Because I feel a little bit of flavor in there!"
'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
"Anybody that thought you were a one-trick pony, that all you did was the country thing?" Randy Jackson said. "Dude, you can perform. This was amazing dude!"
What did you think of McCreary's take on 'The King of Rock n' Roll'?
