Naomi Judd Hesitantly Admits Ashley Was Neglected as a Child (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 7th 2011 4:30PM
Naomi Judd Feels that Daughter Ashley Was Neglected as a ChildNaomi and Wynonna Judd appeared on 'The View' to promote their upcoming series 'The Judds,' which is set to premiere on OWN this Sunday. They also fielded a question from Barbara Walters on Ashley Judd's new memoir, in which she states she was neglected by her family as a child.

"Do you feel that Ashley was neglected?" asked Walters.

"In a way I do," replied Naomi. "But, the thing I want to acknowledge is that I adore my daughter. These two girls and my husband, of course, Larry, are the joy of my life and I support Ashley."

"We're allowing each of us to have a voice. It's Ashley's turn," said Wynonna, adding that she and her mother will tell their side of the story when their show premieres. "We all have three different realities of the same car ride to the nightmares we were in."

I love the Judd's. All three are an inspiration . They are beautiful, talented and strong and they give back to our world, instead of taking.

This entire family makes me sick. It seems like every time someone's career isn't getting enough attention, they claim they were sexually abused as a child. So now add Ashley to the list. What a joke. And far be it for Naomi to let one of her children take the spotlight away from her, she now claims that her first memory, which occurred when she was 3 years old, was that of being sexually abused. Is she crazy? I don't know many people who have memories at the age of 3. And lastly, she and Winona looked like clowns on The View with that ridiculous hair. I'm sure Oprah is sorry she gave them a show. They are all a train wreck waiting to happen.

These two are just disgusting.....TRASH would be the word that comes to mind...These two should not even be allowed out of the house much less to supposedly **entertain**. They are not singers in my opinion. And look at the clown faces and RED hair. What's the deal with this Ugly red hair, doesn't even look natural.

They look like a couple of side show clowns. Bozo red hair, bloated lips, face makeup that doesn't match their neck, and they'll do or say anything to get you to come watch their show.

Is it any coincidence that Ashley's book, and the Judd's "docuseries" aka reality bullsh*t are being released the same week?

The whole family will do anything for attention.

Whoa, take a lesson-Wynonna voiced extremely well what is a fact, we each experience the exact same events differently. Ashley included in her book a section to provide why she is so suited to work with people around the globe going through life's difficult challenges. Naomi-who owns and accepts what took place long ago, is a truly beautiful soul-each of the ladies have continued to grow-to move on, each is a work in progress. Because I share the experience as an abused youngster, I too moved on. Recently I was given the opportunity to visit with an individual from over fifty years ago, doing so was eye opening. What I've learned - we can survive childhood and make ourselves whole, be at peace with who we've become. Where you come from is never as important as where and who you are today- These ladies epitomize highly admirable intelligence in their own evolution in life..THANKS to each equally =

Naomi, Wynonna and Ashley are all awesome. They are like everyone else only they were blessed with a lot of talent, each in their own way. The songs they sing are so touching, so real so comforting to so many people. When Grampa came out, my sisters and I used to cry whenever we heard it because it reminded us of our father. Sometimes, we would just get in the car, put the CD in and drive around listening to it and singing along..it was a good time and meant a lot to us. For those of you who are being so rude and criticizing Naomi..understand that she gives a lot to us and the millions who love her. You may be jealous of her success, but that's no reason to be so vile. We love her and her daughters..they are a tight family..that brings so much joy and meaning to so many.

I love the Judd's, all three of you! What I love most about genuine "Southern folk" especially these "Country" singers is that you ladies realize that you live in the "real world" and EVERY family has a little "D" dysfunction in it! You are no different from most American families... Except, you worked hard and followed your dream and became famous. You never acted like your life was perfect or that you were any better than the next person. You have always seemed to be humble on stage... especially "Y"!! You except each other for who you are and allow one another the space and the opportunity to grow. I admire your class, and that you don't act like most of the Hollywood phonies. You agree to disagree and even after being questioned about some of the not so pleasant things that have come out about your family in Ashley's book... Neither Momma or Sister threw baby Ashley to the wolfs. Like "Y" said... "It's Ashley's turn to tell her side of the story". Way to go "Y"... and Momma Bear... I don't care what these other comments say about you... Naomi, you're like most "Momma Bears" you are going to protect your cubs at all cost!! Movie stars or not no one wants people to know every little thing about their personal lives. When you become famous at a young age...you have no clue that when you act up like "Y" (will admit she did during her teen age years) what effect that may have on your image or your career. Momma Bear had a huge legal responsibility to deal with each and every day. She had to make sure the Judd's lived up to their contractual obligations. We look at what they do as entertainment... Naomi knew differently... She realized that was the way they made their living. She also had the pressure of having many people on their payroll that counted on them as well. Say what you want... she's no different than any of us Moms out there.... I don't know of any of us that received a parent guide on the perfect way to raise children after they were born... We need to stop pointing fingers... at least they don't go on talk shows and look into the camera and pretend that none of what's being said is true... and so what if it is... It's really not anyone's business. I pray that this does not destroy them as a family. They are very talented ladies and I appreciate all they have contributed both in the music industry and the movie industry. Judd gals... You rock!!! PS... "Y' You look awesome.... I too am a female who has struggled with weight issues al- most all my life. I'm grateful that you appear to have over come this issue and now you look like you have embraced who you are. You looked radiant on the View and I can't wait to watch you and Naomi on Sunday. God Bless you!
