In past seasons, the folks at 'TMZ' have followed around various 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX) contestants, keeping fans in the loop as to what they're doing now, and in some cases what they've done in the past. It hasn't always been good news. This season, however, the Idols got a chance to get back at them a little when they went to TMZ's offices for "some serious media training," according to executive producer Harvey Levin.
There wasn't a lot of practical training, though. They advised Paul McDonald to use spit to style his hair if he ever gets arrested and suggested Haley Reinhart try to turn her lipstick-on-the-face incident into an endorsement.
'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
When it was suggested that James Durbin learn to compose himself when faced with his idols, like Hulk Hogan, Durbin lashed back, sparring with the guy who brought it up.
"Look at you," Durbin said referencing the guy's shaggy hair and five o'clock shadow. "You're on camera!"
"You look like you're in Staind," the guy retorted.
"At least I'm in something," Durbin shot back.
What did you think of the kid's trip to TMZ? Do you think they got any good advice?
