'American Idol' Results: Top Nine Shocking Elimination (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 8th 2011 12:21AM
'American Idol' elimination resultsThe judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX) is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the Bottom Three this season.

So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.

But one thing everyone seemed to agree on, was that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.

"I'm never upset on this show and I'm never really mad," Randy Jackson said. "But this makes me mad."

Perhaps no one was as stunned as Stefano Langone. Standing beside early favorite Pia Toscano, Langone had to have figured it was him headed home. He simply stood there dumbstruck when Seacrest announced that he was safe.

For the fifth elimination in a row, it was a women who was sent home. We simply refuse to believe that all six of the guys in the Top 13 are superior to the five girls that have been sent packing.

If Langone's face showed shock, there was shock, tears and outrage on the judge's panel.

Jennifer Lopez tearfully said, "I have no idea what just happened here."

Even Ryan Seacrest closed the show by appealing directly to the audience, as if he didn't agree with these results either. "We need you," he told us all. "Stay with us this season."

Were you shocked by Pia's elimination? Do you think Haley and Lauren are next?

THE PUBLIC GOT IT RIGHT. SHE IS NOT THE BEST. THE JUDGES ARE BUSY TRYING TO MAKE SURE THEY TALK OVER RANDY BEFORE HE CAN FINISH A SENTENCE. JENNIFER STATES THE SAME THING TO ALL THE ONES SHE LIKES. SHE DOES NOT WANT TO LET THE OTHER JUDGES HAVE AN OPINION UNLESS IT AGREES WITH HERS - AT LEAST RANDY TRIES TO TELL THE TRUTH UNTIL JENNIFER KEEPS CUTTING HIM OFF - THE JUDGES SHOULD JUDGE - THAT IS THEIR JOB, THIS IS NOT A CONTEST FOR THE JUDGES. I THINIK THE PUBLIC WILL MAKE SURE THE RIGHT ONE WINS.

The judges overpraised Haley on her last two weeks. First, the pimp spot with *Benny and the Jets" and then the week again, while nitpicking on Pia's *so-called* lack of performance and too many ballads. So the first uptempo song that Pia sings is her swan song. Maybe Pia knew her niche better than the usual useless judges.

They also overpraised Paul, who really can't sing on tune and has an awful tone. They wasted their save on Casey, a much lesser singer, where is he going? They constantly either said nothing about most of the contestants, overpraised a lot of the weaker ones, including the early pimped Lauren and repeatedly picked on the two contestants with the really purest voices, Pia and Stefano.

So, why were they so shocked, when those two stood alone, together waiting for decapitation? As Ryan said, they are not *necessarily* the bottom two, but ONE is going home. Sure, why not make it look like Stefano was the other choice for going home, instead of Jacob who could have been second from the bottom, but was sent back to safety.

Overpraising Haley and Paul, pimping Lauren and Scotty from day one and constantly badgering Pia for more and you get an elimination of Pia. Why the surprise? Besides, the judges know the results in advance. Nigel does and he said, Pia was NEVER a frontrunner, not that he is to be believed, but why not? Pia got worse reviews than a lot of the inferior singers, so again why NOT? I guess now Paul and Casey will survive the much better Stefano who was made to be a scapegoat by standing next to Pia when she was eliminated.

Even without Simon's barbs (and I don't miss him at all) the judges still influence the public. It's just more subtle and less cruel now.

Pia was one of the best singers according to the judges, and even Simon Cowell has said that the show IS a singing competition. The best way to send the message to American Idol that the voting isn't reflecting the actual viewership, is to BOYCOTT American Idol. This hits them where it hurts - Ad Revenue. Ford is a sponser, yet while 11-15 year olds can text votes, they don't buy cars. If the show is going to reflect what the actual viewers think, they need to fix this! This isn't just about her, this is also about the fact that the voting doesn't appear to be an honest representation of the actual viewership.

it doesn't matter what age group the viewers are and it doesn't matter whether they can text or buy a car. its about the personality of the contestant and there singing ability. well yes Pia could sing BUT she did not have a great personality as were Lauren, James, and Casey have awesome personality's. She was not what America wanted and what the 11-15 year olds wanted.

I think Pia was more worried about looking good, not let her personality shine...wait she had none. I think 50% of the show is how you present yourself. She was way to stuffy and into herself

Something is terribly wrong. When calling the # to vote for Pia, on re-dial I was getting a porn line. On more than 50 attempts the line was busy or the porn came on. I re checked the number and I did have the correct number. This should be checked, there is no way she should have been voted off. With talent like that even the judges were in shock. Time to move on from watching AI, something is terribly unfair.
