'Deadliest Catch' Fans: AOL TV Is Going to CatchCon!

'Deadliest Catch' is what reality TV should be. What's more real than seeing the truly dark side of a very perilous job -- a job that needs no added drama manufactured for TV's sake? On this show, people's lives are actually in danger.

Last season was a tough one for the king crab fishermen, with the untimely death of one of their own, Cornelia Marie captain Phil Harris. Season 7 (premiering Tuesday, April 12, 9PM ET on Discovery) looks to be a year of fresh starts and new blood, including two new captains: Scott Campbell, Jr of the Seabrooke and Elliot Neese of the Ramblin' Rose.
This Saturday, April 9, fans will get a chance to meet the new guys, hear from the veterans and get a sneak peek at the new season before it premieres thanks to CatchCon, the show's own fan convention at the Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle.
The convention is free (register here) and packs in six hours of 'Deadliest Catch' goodness, including tours of one of the boats docked in the harbor, a Deadliest Fan trivia face-off, panels with the captains and crew and an autograph session.
I'll be there for it all, getting exclusive interviews and some fan reactions, so check back here at AOL TV before the premiere on Tuesday for the Con's best moments.
