Jon Stewart Spoofs Glenn Beck's Fox Departure (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart as Glenn Beck on 'The Daily show'Jon Stewart whipped out the glasses and the chalkboard, embraced the weird camera angles, and spent the first 20 minutes of 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) reporting on Glenn Beck's departure from Fox News as if he was Glenn Beck.

Although the spoof was often longer in ambition than execution, Stewart did an excellent job of parodying Beckian logic in a nifty riff on the Nielsen ratings.

"People will tell you Glenn was fired because of plummeting ratings: 30 percent of his viewers have abandoned him, his audience's medium age is now dead of natural causes," Stewart-as-Beck-commenting-on-Beck hysterically explained.

"Do we really want to live in an America where what we watch is determined by a shadowy mix-and-match collective of so-called 'Nielsen families?' You know who else had a family that anybody could join? ... Charles Manson."

"I don't know about you, ladies and gentleman," he continued. "But I don't think I want to live in an America where Charles Manson tells our children what they can watch on television."

Beck couldn't have said it any better himself.

stewart's riff,while not as hilarious as previous beck episodes,was clever satire with just a hint of richly deserved contempt.Even my wife,a devoted conservative, never misses the daily show and has grown quite disappointed in beck's increasingly deranged efforts to retain his ratings.

stewart just wishes he had becks people. i think stewarts show sucks. hes one of those loud mouths . i cant see why people watch him. i guess they have no life. the only thing he does is put people down. hi, stewart take a long look in the mirrow. your never be as good as beck, not on your best day.

I rarely miss Stewarts show, however, there are times when it fails to see itself for what it is. The Beck segment was one of those times. His disdain for Beck overides the comedy which is Stewarts claim to fame. If I need a good dose of conflict, I'll tune into the real news!

Jon Stewart sucks!!!!. His bit was not funny...just like the rest of his show. Why he is still on is beyond me. He is as liberal as they come.

Who watches this guy?

My college class has watched his show as an assignment in liberal journalism, and it was painful and not very funny.
Maybe he's part of the problem in our society.
