Kathleen Turner on Doing Her Own Stunts in Classic Movies (VIDEO)
On 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), Kathleen Turner revealed that she did some of her own stunts in two of her most famous movies. Turner herself slid down a muddy hillside in the iconic scene from 'Romancing the Stone' and she actually swung from a chandelier in 'The War of the Roses.'Turner said he thoroughly enjoyed her muddy ride in 'Romancing the Stone,' but didn't enjoy cleaning up. "I did the mudslide five times," she said. "The cleanup was difficult after. I'm trying to get all the mud out of my ears and nose. It was not fun."
In terms of 'War of the Roses,' Turner said she was trying to inspire a reluctant stunt woman to swing on the chandelier, but ended up doing the stunt herself. "I wasn't actually supposed to do that. I had a wonderful stunt woman, but, for some reason, she kind of froze. So, I said, 'Oh, I'll give it a go,' thinking I'd just loosen her up. And, I hit the springboard, sailed through the air and said, 'Oh, well, I guess I'm doing it,'" she said.
