Stephen Colbert Can't Stand Jon Stewart Winning At 'The Comedy Awards' (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert & Jon Stewart, 'The Comedy Awards'At the inaugural edition of 'The Comedy Awards' (Sun., 9PM ET on Comedy Central), Jon Stewart and 'The Daily Show' picked right up where they left off at the Emmy Awards. Unfortunately, that meant he beat his compatriot in late night on Comedy Central, and Stephen Colbert has had about enough of coming in second.

As Stewart began his acceptance speech, Colbert moved closer and closer, staring him down, until finally--

"Do you wanna say something, Stephen?"

Taking the award, Colbert addressed the crowd. "Every year I sit behind Jon at the Emmys and every year he wins the award ... I always hug and I kiss you and I mean it because you're incredible and I love you, buddy. But tonight, you can go f*** yourself. Get off the stage!"

It was just the kind of relaxed environment that would allow for this kind of off-the-cuff (most likely scripted) reaction to the Stewart string of victories. We know many members of the Colbert Nation were pleased to see their leader rise up and claim what was his -- by which we mean what was of course not his, but should have been.

After all, where would Jon Stewart be without Stephen Colbert? Actually, that's the other way around, but really, does it matter? Colbert accepted the award on behalf of all the late-night comedians who've suffered at the hands of Stewart's consecutive wins.

We didn't even know he'd displaced Jack Paar and Joey Bishop. Stewart's been winning way longer than we realized!
