Katie Couric Awkwardly Deflects Questions About Her Future Plans on 'The View' (VIDEO)

Barbara Walters and Katie Couric on 'The View'There has been frequent speculation lately that Katie Couric will be leaving 'CBS Evening News' for another show, perhaps even for her old gig on 'Today.' Couric dodged most of Barbara Walters' pointed questions today on 'The View' about her job status, saying there has been no announcement and her plans, whatever they may be, are not public.

"Will you finally confirm that you're leaving already?" Walters said.

"I don't think it's my place to do that," said Couric. "I haven't made a decision. I'm in the middle of discussions." Couric would say only that she is exploring different opportunities and "figuring things out," while still enjoying her job at CBS. Walters asked if anyone could have saved the 'Evening News,' a question which made Couric bristle a bit, insisting she was proud of the work, valuing quality over ratings.

Walters tried one last shot, telling Couric that she was doing the right thing. "Well, you don't know what I'm doing but thank you for saying that," Couric said. Walters still thinks she has a pretty good idea.

She has been over her head now she knows how it feels to be in the hot seat..she is no good as an anchor ..LOSER

Just another non-journalist selling her soul to satisfy the socialiistic so called media.
I can no longer call them liberal media , I understand a liberal point of view but the main stream media has stepped way past that line.

Putting Couric on as top anchor was like hiring a giddy teenager to do the job.....she is totally not the right personality for such a serious endeavor. She is still stuck on being "cute"...never grew up even though she is over 50, P L E A S E ! When will she and other women like her realize that being"cute" and smiling like a clown isn't a qualification for a real anchor job?

Couric has always been a loser, NO Brains at all. CBS should have fired her years ago after her First news cast.
