Kirstie Alley on Losing Her Shoe: I'm Not Doing a Sitcom

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had another mishap this week on 'Dancing With the Stars' on "classical" night. The comedic actress, in a move worthy of Lucy Ricardo, temporarily lost her shoe while doing her routine with her pro partner.Fortunately, she got the shoe back on and was able to complete the dancing, earning a respectable score of 22 in the process.
While they recovered nicely and this week's snafu wasn't nearly as bad as last week's tumble, Alley is ready to leave the comedy to her sitcoms and return to giving impressive performances as she did in week 1 of the reality competition series."I'm not doing a sitcom," Alley told TV Squad after Monday's show. "I'm actually doing a dance show. I'm tired of having to recover. I would just like to do something right. I don't feel like I'm jinxed. I just need to get my [act] together. There's something going on. Our rehearsals are swell. We're bitchin' in rehearsals.
"I'm supposed to be Swan Lake out there," she continues. "[Maks] was supposed to come over and help me up off the floor but when he did he had this look on his face."
"I was like, 'Calm down, calm down,'" Chmerkovskiy says.
Don't get her wrong -- Alley loves getting laughs. She just wants to get them for the right reasons. "I want us to be the people who dance well like we were in the first week," she sighs. "Along the way, we've become the freak show. I want us to take our dancing up a notch."
"Honestly, I'm happy [with things]," Chmerkovskiy adds. "I'm excited."
