Backstage Interviews at 'Dancing With the Stars': Sugar Ray Leonard's Exit and More Dating Rumors
Despite an improved performance and not being the lowest scoring couple, Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunskaya were sent packing last night on 'Dancing With the Stars.'The couple had scored 21 points on Monday's performance show and earned high praise from taskmaster judge Len Goodman, who said he was "thoroughly entertained" by the duo's Viennese Waltz.
Producers kept everyone guessing by having host Tom Bergeron announce that top-scoring duo Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas were in jeopardy and could be sent home. In the end, however, it was the revered fighter who went down for the count.
Leonard and Trebunskaya spoke to TV Squad on the post-show press line immediately after the live results show.
The pair said they knew they were likely leaving after Kendra Wilkinson and pro partner Louis van Amstel, the lowest scoring couple in week 4, were called safe.
"After that, we were like, 'Ahhh...,'" Trebunskaya said, her voice trailing off.
Ahh...fudge?
"Yes," said Leonard. "Fudge."
The boxer's keeping his sense of humor, but he's not thrilled about the results. "Being a fighter, there's a part of me that's screaming," Leonard said.

"No question about it, I'm screaming inside. But I'm also a gracious loser. I've had the most phenomenal experience ever with a show that I was totally afraid of doing. I've met friends, an incredible staff and a wonderful lady who taught me what I thought I couldn't be taught."
Now Leonard plans to promote his upcoming memoir, 'The Big Fight: My Life In and Out of the Ring,' which comes out on June 7.
Trebunskaya will accompany Leonard on a round of interviews including one on 'Live! With Regis & Kelly.' "I'm excited to see Regis," she said. "He's almost done. He's a good dancer, though. Maybe once he retires he'll be my next Ray?"
The remaining contestants are going to miss the exiting couple.
"Ray's the most wholehearted, genuine gentleman," commented Ralph Macchio. "I remember watching him in the '76 Olympics and him fighting against the Cuban team. When we met here he came up to me and said what an influence 'The Karate Kid' movies were to his whole family. I was like, 'Dude, come on!'"
"We love Ray," Chelsie Hightower said. "He was so kind and nice to everyone."
"Anna, too," said Romeo. "I love her eyes. It's like looking into a whole other world."
While many seasons of 'DWTS' have been filled with dramas off the dance floor, this season seems to be about dancing and not the couples' private lives. However, there's been a little buzz about a romance between Hines Ward and Kym Johnson. But that's news to them!
Johnson asked: "So what are people saying?"
Buzz has been slowly simmering that they are dating, fueled by the fact that A) both are single and B) they've been spending so much time together. (Granted, all 'DWTS' couples do.)
"You got to [hang out with each other]," Hines explained. "That's what I do in football. I'm asking Kym, 'Where are you going? I'm going with you.' I force [my company] on her because you've got to hang out together to have [that rapport.] I don't know anyone in L.A."
