'American Idol': Jimmy Iovine Tells Lauren to Steal Pia's Votes and Bury Miley Cyrus (VIDEO)

Will.i.am was back this week, working alongside Jimmy Iovine in the mentoring sessions with the contestants on 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX). It was a good thing he was there, too, as he tempered some of Iovine's more aggressive suggestions and responses.

Iovine was very demanding this week, telling Casey Abrams, James Durbin and Jacob Lusk to change their songs -- though only one of them actually listened. He didn't suggest Lauren Alaina change her choice, but he told her she needed to out-sing Miley Cyrus on 'The Climb.'

"You're a much, much stronger singer than Miley Cyrus," he told Alaina to her embarrassed horror. "You gotta bury her on this song."

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.

He then suggested that she had an opportunity to steal Pia Toscano's votes. Will.i.am countered that by suggesting Aliana "invite them" instead. "Because if they're invited, then you got them [and] you can sell them whatever you want."
