Ed Schultz and Michael Steele Shout at Each Other on 'Real Time' (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 18th 2011 3:35AM
Former GOP chairman Michael Steele and MSNBC talker Ed Schultz got into quite a heated debate over Republican congressmen Paul Ryan's plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system on 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Friday, 10PM ET on HBO).

As the two loudly articulated their points, one suspected that ABC political director Amy Walter, who was seated between the men, was getting sprayed with spittle.

After a while, Maher indicated Steele and Schultz needed to tone it down, and the discussion briefly moved on to the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War.

However, once a quip was made about the real Civil War being between Steele and Schultz, the two started going at it again. "I'll take this brother out back," Steele joked about Schultz.

"He's going to take me out back?" Schultz responded, incredulous.

"Fellas, please, we've never had a fistfight on the show," Maher said. "I'm not going to let it happen."
