That's Vice President Yes, the 'Seinfeld' and 'New Adventures of Old Christine' actress is returning to TV with a new HBO series, 'Veep,' where she'll play the play the vice president of the United States.
According to Deadline, Louis-Dreyfus will play former Senator Selena Meyers in the comedy set "very near the White House." Soon after landing the job, Louis-Dreyfus's character finds out the vice presidency isn't anything like she expected and the people who warned her about it were right.
'Arrested Development' veteran Tony Hale, 'My Girl' star Anna Chlumsky, Sufe Bradshaw, Reid Scott, Tim Simons and Matt Walsh co-star in the comedy from British writer and director Armando Iannucci.
"It is a true delight to work with HBO and Armando Iannucci," Louis-Dreyfus said in a statement. "I take the role of vice president very seriously, and although everyone says this is a comedy, I don't think there is anything funny at all about me being a heartbeat away from the presidency."
Louis-Dreyfus spent nine seasons on 'Seinfeld' and five on 'The New Adventures of Old Christine,' winning an Emmy for each role.
After the cancellation of 'Old Christine,' Louis-Dreyfus recently had a recurring role on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and popped up on the live episode of '30 Rock.'
'Veep' will debut in the fall of 2012.
